The prepared environment of a primary classroom is \u2018scientifically\u2019 designed to support the child who is at an age where he absorbs at ease (like a sponge) and learns at his own individual rhythm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Areas of the prepared environment support the following categories of activities:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Practical Life \u2013 To develop concentration and coordination<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sensorial \u2013 To develop and refine the senses<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Math \u2013 To develop the logical mind<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Language \u2013 To interact with society<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Science (Nature) \u2013 To learn about the wonders of the world from botany to zoology<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Geography and Culture \u2013 To study the physical forms of the earth and civilizations<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Arts \u2013 To express the inner self<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Physical Education \u2013 To develop and refine control over the body and movements and practice co-operation<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Primary children also benefit from their active involvement in caring for themselves and their environment. They are allowed pro-active participation in all festivals, celebrations and programmes conducted in the school &#8211; from the unpacking and setting up for the occasion up to the end when everything used has been put away carefully, the children have an active role of responsibilities.
