Frequently asked questions at Little Peepal
- From what age does Little Peepal Day Care accept children?
We accept children from the age of 18 months up to 6 years.
- Will there be a trained adults at all times in the Day Care?
Yes. The aunties in the Day care are Montessori trained and will follow the principles of Montessori in Day Care also.
- What are the Day Care timings?
We work from morning 9 am to 6 pm from Monday to Friday.
- What are the different time slots available?
We have 1 hour, 3 hours, 5 hours, 7 hours and 9 hours packages on a monthly basis. Hourly packages per day are also available. Please contact the office for details.
- Can I put my child in Day Care for just a day?
Yes. Once registered, you may choose to leave your child on a regular basis or on any one day when you need the facility also. Please contact office for details.
- I have availed a 5 hours slot but sometimes I may be late from office. How is this handled?
While we understand that all days are not the same and there could be delays on some days. However, if the delay is more than half hour (30mins) after the child’s time slot, an hourly charge (as per tariff) will have to be paid. Also, if there is frequent recurrence (more than twice a month) of delays, there will be a fine levied from the third occurrence.
- Will the Day Care provide snacks? What kind of snacks will be provided?
Yes. Parents may choose to send snacks from home or let us know if we need to provide the snacks. The child will be given healthy snacks like fruits, sundal, dry fruits chikki, etc. It will only be vegetarian.
- Can we send snacks from home?
Yes. Snacks can be sent from home. However, some snacks are not allowed on the premises (chocolates and chocolate-based foods, sugary foods, etc.) Kindly confirm with the office if you have any doubts.
- Will lunch be provided at the Day Care?
The child will have to bring lunch from home.
- Will my child be fed by an adult?
We will mostly try to have the child develop the habit of eating on their own. However, an adult will be seated with the children to assist in eating if necessary. Please know that No child will be forced to eat/finish their snacks or lunch. It is the child’s choice.
- When is snack time and lunch time in the Day care?
There is no set time for snacks. The children are free to sit at the snack table at any time and as many times as they want to eat. Lunch is normally between 12:30 & 1:30 pm, however, this too is flexible if the child wants to eat earlier or later.
- What are the activities that my child will be engaged in?
Children will be engaged in Montessori based activities which involve each child individually in day-to-day activities of practical life, sensorial activities that will help the child to explore their senses, and enjoyable language and math activities. There are also group play activities, song and story time as well as outdoor play time. However, there is not set time table as we follow what the child wants to do.
- Will my child have outdoor play time every day?
Although we may take the children to the outdoor play area every day, it will not be at the same time every day. Therefore, each child may be in the play area about 2 to 3 times a week. Also, if a child opts not to play, they will not be forced.
- Is there sleep time at the Day Care?
There is no compulsion for any child to sleep and no set time for all children to sleep. Children will have a time for resting right after lunch during which we will lay out beds should they want to sleep.
- What is the Adult to child ratio?
The Child to adult ratio will be 4:1 for younger children (below 2.5 years) and 6:1 for older children (2.5 to 6 years).
- Are Diapers allowed?
We do not allow diapers. Children will be taken to the toilet as frequently as necessary and parents are informed about sending extra set of clothes and undergarments accordingly.
- My child is unwell. May I still leave him/her at the Day Care?
We accept children who have mild cold or cough only as long as the child is happy and active. For any and all other illnesses, the child will not be allowed in the Day care.
- What happens if my child gets sick in the Day care?
Parents will be called and informed if a child gets sick during the time in the Day care. The sick child will also be isolated along with an adult who will attend to the child until the parents pick up the child.
